Product Description

TEKNOBOND 650 is solvent containing, high performance, pigmented, epoxy paint with two components which is strong enough to work in heavy conditions and resistant to chemicals. It can be applied to concrete, metal, wooden and plaster surfaces.

Preparation of Substrate

The mineral based surfaces must be clean, dry, sound and free from dust, grease or any loose material. Old concrete surfaces contaminated with oil or grease requires suitable preparation such as steam cleaning in conjunction with a suitable detergent. Obtain a conditional moisture ratio less than %4. If the application surface is concrete, it should have passed the curing period of 28 days and should be sound enough. Concrete substrates have to be primed with TEKNOBOND 100 (epoxy surface primer) before the application. Rough surfaces must be smoothed and craters must be filled. Steel surfaces should be cleaned from rust by sand blasting and if needed new reinforcement should be installed.

Mixing

TEKNOBOND 650 produced according to right mixing ratio. The temperature of the materials must not exceed 15^oC – 25^oC. Mix the A and B components thoroughly with a mechanical mixer with a 400 – 600 rpm mixer in a clean container until a consistency and a streak free structure is achieved (at least 3 minutes). Mix materials in appropriate amount according to proportions of mixture by considering the material you will be able to use. 

Application Method

Immediately after mixing TEKNOBOND 650, it should be applied using a brush or roller to the prepared clean surface. TEKNOBOND 650 can be applied in film thicknesses up to 200 – 500 microns at one coat.

Watchpoints

·         After the application there should be no contact for 24 hours. Also water contact has to be avoided.

·         Avoid application under excessive heat or wind and under temperatures below +5°C and over +35°C.

·         TEKNOBOND 650 should be applied in 30 minutes (at 20^oC). The workability and hardening times of epoxy based products depend on temperature.

·         For the second coat application, time is important. Else there will be no bonding between the coats.

·         Avoid application on frozen areas, on areas under risk of freezing in 24 hours.

·         TEKNOBOND 650 is flammable.

·         Ensure sufficient aerating conditions when applying in closed areas.

Storage
The shelf life of TEKNOBOND 650 is 12 months. Store in cool, dry and frost free conditions.
